How can we help you?

Contact your nearest European Business Advisory office or submit a business inquiry online.

The EBA’s Mentoring Programme (EMP) supports new and existing business by carefully matching a trained business mentor with those businesses seeking guidance.

Select businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs can receive up to 6 months of free support.

We will match you and your business to a suitable and experienced mentor who is knowledgeable in a relevant business area. Synthetically, your mentor will offer you:

  • an outside and unbiased perspective on you and your business
  • confidential consultations about the business
  • honest and constructive feedback with business ideas
  • help with decision making
  • contacts and networks to further your personal and business development
  • ongoing encouragement.

Please note that certain areas are extraneous to the EMP, such as:

  • counselling
  • training
  • coaching
  • technical advising

and your mentor will not take any responsibility for the success of your business.

how does the application process work?

If you are interested in joining the EMP, please take into consideration that the application process follows the steps here below.

1. First application and pre-selection

Please, get in touch with us about EMP filling in the short form available on this page. All the first applications are considered by our team within 7 working days.

2. Informal talk

If, after reviewing your application, we believe that you could match with the EMP, we invite you to a 30-minute informal and small talk. Please note that the small talk will be held either in London or online.

3. Second application

The next step is to fill in another more structured form. The second application is a very important factor in the process and is designed to help us get to know you better. So, please take time to complete your second application form thoughtfully and honestly. Also, please attach your CV/bio.

4. Welcome on board!

All applicants selected as mentees receive a welcome pack—a welcome letter and a mentee handbook. And mentoring starts!

frequently asked questions

What is mentoring?

Mentoring is a professional relationship in which an experienced person (the mentor) supports and encourages people (the mentees) to develop specific skills and knowledge that will maximise their business potential and improve their performance.

How often will I meet with my mentor?

During your first or second meeting you and your mentor will set and agree goals/objectives that you want to accomplish. Meeting frequencies and formats will be agreed between you so that your action steps can be tellingly supported.

Is EMP really free?

Yes. People and businesses we select for the EMP can receive up to 6 months of free mentoring. Making European Business Advisory an increasingly great place to work is one of the strands of our Corporate Responsibility agenda. Free mentoring to entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs is one of the most effective way to achieve that goal.
